The 6th International Conference of Precision Agricultural Aviation

The conference aims to promote academic exchanges in the field of agricultural aviation, and to improve the research and application level of precision agricultural aviation. Nearly 300 experts, scholars and well-known enterprises from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia etc. attended the meeting.

On the morning of the 23rd, all delegates attended the opening ceremony of the meeting. As the founder and chairman of the International Conference of Precision Agricultural Aviation, Dr. Yubin Lan expressed warm welcome to the guests and participants, and introduced the development of precision agricultural aviation technology in recent years. Jincai Yang, Chairman of Shenzhen UAV Industry Association, Tiezhu Zhang, President of Shandong University of Science and Technology, Weike Yao, Chairman of China International Association for Science and Technology Cooperation. Meijia Bi, former member of the Administrative Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Director of the Department of Personnel and Labor of the Ministry of Agriculture addressed the meeting and gave a speech to wish the conference have a complete success respectively.

Subsequently, the meeting entered the next session. Dr. Clint Hoffmann, former Director of the Agricultural Aviation Technology Research Unit of the US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service and founder of Prology Consulting, Dr. Yong He, Zhejiang University, Dr.  Bradley Fritz, Director of the Agricultural Aviation Technology  Research Unit of the US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service,  Dr. Xinyu, Xue Plant Protection of the Nanjing Agricultural Machinery Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Director of the Center for Environmental Engineering Technology, Professor Andrew Hewitt, Director of the Center for Pesticides Application and Safety at the University of Queensland, Australia, Dr.  Liping Chen, Director of the National Center for Agricultural Intelligent Equipment Engineering Technology, Dr. Roberto Barbosa, Head of Global Application Technology of DowDuPont Agricultural Division, Dr. Huizhu, Yuan from the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences chaired the session.

After the completion of the academic report on the same day, under the auspices of Lin Yang, Chairman of the Agricultural Aviation Branch of China Agricultural Mechanization Association and Yuedong Mao, Chairman of Shenzhen Gaokexin Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., the DuPont, USA, Ag-Nav, Canada Shenzhen, Gaoke Xinnong, Anyang Quanfeng, Guangzhou Feifei, Beijing Weijia, DJI Innovation, Guangzhou Tianxiang, Yifei Zhikong, Nanjing Shansi, Shenzhen SuperNode and other well-known domestic and foreign plant protection UAV companies representatives around the world shared the status of agricultural development and the bottleneck of plant protection UAV, gave their own opinions, and conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges with the participants.

Precision Agriculture Aviation Forum

On the morning of the 24th, the meeting was hosted by Professor  Baijing Qiu from Jiangsu University and Professor Xia Yao from Nanjing Agricultural University. Associate Professor Baofeng Su from Northwest A&F University, Licheng Zhu, Associate Research Fellow of Institute of Electromechanical Technology, China Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences, Associate Professor Xiaoya Dong, Jiangsu University, Professor Yu Ru, Nanjing Forestry University, Dr. Wen Zeng from South China Agricultural University, Dr. Huasheng Huang, from South China Agricultural University, Dr. Guobin Wang, Weixiang Yao,  Juan Wang, and Chairman of Shenzhen United Aircraft Technology Co., Ltd. Gangyin Tian shared their research contents and subject academic report.

International Conference of Precision Agricultural Aviation has been held since 2008. It has been successfully held for five times so far, the first three conferences of which were held at the Agricultural Aviation Technology Research Unit of the USDA, and the fourth and fifth conferences were held at South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou. The successful holding of the International Conference of Precision Agricultural Aviation will enable everyone to have a clearer understanding of the development status and future development direction of precision agricultural aviation. It clarifies the direction for all research units and personnel, and guide the healthy, orderly and rapid development of the international precision agricultural aviation industry.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that on the conference, the second Drone World Congress in 2018 was also held in Shenzhen. As an invited keynote speaker, Professor Yubin Lan gave a presentation on the status and future prospects of precision agricultural aviation at the conference,

and introduced the concept and development status of precision agricultural aviation to the participating experts. During the conference, the inauguration ceremony of the "Society for International Precision Agricultural Aviation" was held, and the "International Journal of Precision Agricultural Aviation" were established. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Xuegeng Chen, Professor Yubin Lan, Jincai Yang, Secretary General of the 2018 Second World UAV Congress and Shenzhen UAV Industry Association, Dr. Clint Hoffmann former Research Leader of the Aerial Application Technology Research Unit of the USDA ARS, founder of Prology Consulting Company, Dr. Brad Fritz, Research Leader of AATRU of the USDA ARS, and other 10 internationally renowned experts jointly unveiled the Society for International Precision Agricultural Aviation and the International Journal of Precision Agriculture Aviation. The establishment of the Society for International Precision Agricultural Aviation and the International Journal of Precision Agriculture Aviation provides a platform for communication and exchange between experts, scholars and business representatives in the industry, which will be benefit to the further promotion of the dissemination and development of advanced technologies in the field of precision agricultural aviation.
